Inspired by a necklace one of my close friends of Suriel wore in a blogpost, I tried to create a DIY version. The original necklace is from the H&M Trend collection. And the DIY version is... Easy peasy!The original
What you'll need- shrinkle paper (A4 - transparent)- a ribbon
extra: scissors, a cutter
Tutorial
Step by step1) Cut out the shapes you like TIP: they will shrink in the oven - so make sure they are big enough!2) Cut out a little hole in the middle TIP: make a square, this is the easiest form to cut out with your cutter3) Put them in the oven - this will go very quickly. First they will curl up, afterwards they will flatten themself. This all in 1 minute or less.4) Place a heavy book on them when you take your hot plastic out of the oven5) Start to thread the shapes on to the ribbon

Step by step1) Make a template out of paper2) Cut out the template and afterwards cut out the basis of the necklace by using the template3) Cut out the squares and triangles4) Place them before gluing5) Add the ribbons TIP: You can always use magnets or pins if you do want to use ribbon

Over the years I collected my share of lace fabrics. I even sometimes buy a shirt just because of a beautiful lace application with the intention to cut it out and make something totally different out of it.Also for this DIY I dug in my collection of lace and gave it a neon-spray-tan. Given that I am currently craving the neon trend, I need to restrain myself not to spray everything around me neon.I found these two fabrics at two totally different places. The first piece of fabric I found a while ago at a local fabric shop. The second one are old (and hideous) curtains my mom used to own. My brothers will be so pleased to see I put a pair of scissors in them. OPTION I 1) Cut out little patterns you find in the fabric 2) Place them together and sew them into a new pattern 3) Give it a spray 4) Add the chain and jewelry claspOPTION II 1) If you can find a pattern in the lace that suits your wishes, just cut it out as a whole 2) Spray it! 3) Add the chain and jewelry claspThe coolest part of it all is definitely the spraying part. Another knotted necklace, a slightly different and heavier then this one.

Two years ago I made small collection of statement necklaces for my clothing line Midnight Gold, this DIY is inspired by one of those necklaces, but I made them longer and more colourful for a instant summer feeling.What you'll need- 1,5 pack of Fimo (or another kind of polymer clay)- some ribbonextra: a cutter, an oven, needle and threathTutorialStep by step1) make little "sausages" of the clay2) Cut them in pieces (around 8 cm)3) Add the two ends together and carefully create oval circles4) Bake them TIP: make sure you bake the circles "loose" 5) When baked, carefully shake the necklace loose, so no cirkels are pasting together6) Add te ribbon by sewing it like shown on the pictureThere you go! A year ago Marni x H&M worked together and made a beautiful collection. Inspired by one of those pieces - worn here by the lovely Liene of the Belgian blog Suriel - I tried to create my own and fun DIY version!What you'll need- Fimo (or another kind of polymer clay)- little balls of styrofoam (I used 8 of 3,5 cm and 2 of 4 cm)- leather cord- the template extra: a pin, an oven, a cutter, tinfoil The templateTutorialStep by step1) Cover the balls in tin foil and make "a tail"2) Roll out the clay and cut out the template3) Make two little holes in the clay4) Place the clay around the ball5) Bake!6) When the clay is baked you will see the balls shrunk and you can easily remove them 7) Weave the cord through the little holes you made earlier

Hello sunshine!Given that Neon is one of the trends for this Spring/Summer here is a lovely DIY to make your own neon statement necklace!What you'll need- Polymer clay ("Fimo")- Ribbon- The templateExtra: an oven, a cutter, superglueThe templateTutorialStep by step1) Make "pancakes" out of your clay (+- 2 mm thickness)2) Put in the fridge3) Cut the template4) Try to fit the paper template on to the rolled out clay and cut the squares out of the clay5) Bake! TIP: Let the squares cool down under a heavy book 6) Sew or glue your ribbon into the right shape (see picture)7) Glue the squares on to the ribbonThere you go, your own neon statement necklace!
A green shaded necklace to spice up your spring garderobe. What you'll need- 3 strings of "Jasseron" necklaces TIP: For Belgium/The Netherlands : I found mine here. - Different shades of green ribbon (1 meter each)- Fluo yellow beads- Little iron rings - An iron wire
Step by Step1) Cut the jasseron in 3 strings of 25 cm each.2) Start to weave the first ribbon between two strings of golden jasseron TIP: Weave a little iron wire through the first attached strings. It helps to "form" the necklace.3) Attach the third jasseron necklace by weaving the second green ribbon IMPORTANT : Make sure you leave enough ribbon left to secure your necklace.4) Attach the beads with the little iron rings5) You can secure the ends of the ribbon by holding it close to a candle. A new statement necklace this time inspired by the Marni x H&M Collection.What you'll need- polymer clay (I used "Fimo" in the colours tangerine and bordeau)- needle and thread- a leather cord Tutorial TemplateStep by step1) Make "pancakes" out of the clay: 3 mm thickness2) Put the pancakes in the freezer for 15 minutes 3) Cut out the template4) Use the template to cut the forms out of the clay5) Make little holes in the shapes 6) Bake them TIP: After baking the shapes directly put them under some heavy books till they cool down. It will prevent the shapes from curling up.6) Now the hard work starts. Start sewing the pieces together. Secure them well, you can add little spots of spray when necessary7) Often look in the mirror when you are sewing all the little pieces together. It helps to keep an eye on the whole.

I am pretty proud of this beauty. It was in my head for days �nd nights, what the same is as sleeping bad because of to much creative activity in my head.What you'll need- Polymer clay (I used "Fimo" in the colours dolphin grey & fluo yellow)- the (awesome) template I made for you- necklace and clasp- glue - a cutter- an ovenDownload the template here: Tutorial
1) Cut the template2) Place the paper triangles as excercise TIP: Take a picture of the paper configuration - It will help you later when you are working with the real triangles3) Roll the clay out - you'll need a pancake (thickness: 2 mm)4) Put in the freezer for 15 minutes TIP: The cutting will go easier5) Cut the triangles out of the clay6) Add a little hole in the 2 outer triangles7) Bake! 8) Place the triangles in the right place and glue them together TIP: I used a glue gun 9) Make the necklace completeEt voila!
A Chunky Statement Necklace made out felt and leather. You can make it in any colour you want and even make the leather piece pop more by making it in another colour.
What you'll need-felt -leather (in the same or different colour)-silk ribbon-template EXTRA : glue (fast drying or fabric glue) // scissors // lighter
Tutorial:1) Cut out the template2) Place the template on the felt and cut the circles3) Do the same for the leather, but cut only one circle (3,8 cm)4) Glue the matching felt and leather template to each other 5) Place all the circles in place and add little spots of glue to secure them6) Sew the ribbon to the back of the outer circles7) TIP: Use a lighter to secure the ends of the silk ribbon. It will keep them from unraveling
