A year ago Marni x H&M worked together and made a beautiful collection. Inspired by one of those pieces - worn here by the lovely Liene of the Belgian blog Suriel - I tried to create my own and fun DIY version! What you'll need- Fimo (or another kind of polymer clay)- little balls of styrofoam (I used 8 of 3,5 cm and 2 of 4 cm)- leather cord- the template extra: a pin, an oven, a cutter, tinfoil The templateTutorial
Step by step1) Cover the balls in tin foil and make "a tail"2) Roll out the clay and cut out the template3) Make two little holes in the clay4) Place the clay around the ball5) Bake!6) When the clay is baked you will see the balls shrunk and you can easily remove them 7) Weave the cord through the little holes you made earlier
There you go!I am in love with the result! How about you?Stay up to date of the latest Operation DIY posts through Facebook.
After watching all the seasons of Gossip Girl -yes, I was hooked for many years- you can not be not inspired and amazed by the outfits, bags, shoes,... and jewellery the characters wore with pride. These earrings are inspired by the characters of Lily and Serena Van der Woodsen. What you'll need-polymer clay (I used "Fimo" in the colours black and dolphin grey)-earstuds, preferable with a little hole in -iron wire-glue-a cutter -a needle-ovenTutorial1) Shape the clay into the right form2) Put in the freezer for 15 minutes! TIP: It cuts way easier!3) Slice the ball and "sausage" in half4) Put back in the freezer 5) Cut the clay piece by piece into a geometrical form6) Take a needle and make a little hole 7) Bake in the oven8) Let the shapes cool down9) Make a little circle with your iron wire and put it through the little hole of the shape and the earring10) Glue the smallest shape onto the stud
Wear them with pride!
