Gemstone Earrings.

I am very excited about this tutorial, given the fact I wanted to make this even before the blog was born. The only problem was: I could not find these gemstones, until last week : I stubled on them thanks to the Dutch webshop The Beadmixer.
Inspiration for this tutorial: Shourouk a beautiful jewelry brand you can find in the magical webshop of Sugar For Your Closet. And the queen of DIY A Pair and A Spare made a sort like tutorial for Vogue.

What you'll need
- gemstones
- A4 plastic (I found this at a local copy shop)

Extra: pliers, superglue, earrings studs

Tutorial

1) Start by placing the stones in their 'baskets' 
2) Secure them by using your pliers and cut off the little eye
3) Arrange them in any way you like
4) Glue them onto the plastic
5) Cut out the shape
6) Add a earring plug at the back

Geometrical Earrings.

Really proud of this little creation! 
Not quite sure how to describe them... Geometrical earrings with a retro touch.

What you'll need 
- polymer clay (3 colours : two dark colours - one light colour)
- earstuds
- superglue
- golden acryl paint
- the template 

extra: an oven, a cutter

Template

Tutorial

Step by step

1) Cut the template

2) Roll the polymer clay out into "pancakes"

3) Put in the fridge for 15 minutes

4) Cut out the figures & cut a little part of the black part (see picture)

5) Bake!

6) Let them cool down under a heavy book or two

7) Paint the triangles gold

8) Glue everything together and add the earstuds to the back

Et voilaaa !

Retro earrings.

A retro inspired earring, that you can make in every colour you want.

What you'll need

- earstuds

- polymer clay in 2 different colours

extra: an oven, a cutter, the template

Tutorial

1) Cut the template + draw an oblique line

2) Make to little balls out of the clay and form them into 2 "pancakes" (thickness: 3mm)

3) Cut a little part of both colours and merge them

4) Place the template on the new formed piece of clay. Make sure you place the line on the transition between the two colours

5) Cut the form out of the clay

6) Bake

7) Directly after baking, place some books on top off the figure, when it cools down. It keeps the form from curling up

8) Glue the earstuds onto the figures 

There you go!

Golden pyramid earrings.

Inspired by a pare of Pieces earrings, I created these two.
Off course you can go and buy them, put some primer on them and paint them gold or silver, but I like it more this way... Homemade.

What you'll need
- Some (leftover) polymer clay
- Earstuds
- Acryl paint in the colour gold

Extra: superglue, a paintbrush, a cutter and an oven.

Tutorial

Step by step
1) Make 2 elongated balls
2) Place them in the fridge
    TIP: It makes the cutting go easier
3) Cut a pyramid shape
4) Put back in the fridge
    TIP: Do NOT forget this step!
5) Cut the excess clay
6) Bake!
7) Paint and let dry
8) Add a little dot of superglue to connect the pyramid and the earstud

Facet earrings.

After watching all the seasons of Gossip Girl -yes, I was hooked for many years- you can not be not inspired and amazed by the outfits, bags, shoes,... and jewellery the characters wore with pride.
These earrings are inspired by the characters of Lily and Serena Van der Woodsen.

What you'll need
-polymer clay (I used "Fimo" in the colours black and dolphin grey)
-earstuds, preferable with a little hole in
-iron wire
-glue
-a cutter 
-a needle
-oven

Tutorial

1) Shape the clay into the right form
2) Put in the freezer for 15 minutes! 
    TIP: It cuts way easier!
3) Slice the ball and "sausage" in half
4) Put back in the freezer
5) Cut the clay piece by piece into a geometrical form
6) Take a needle and make a little hole
7) Bake in the oven
8) Let the shapes cool down
9) Make a little circle with your iron wire and put it through the little hole of the shape and the earring
10) Glue the smallest shape onto the stud

Wear them with pride!
